The Petroglyph Tumblers are thrown porcelain with hand carved and painted drawings. The imagery incised on these drinking glasses is very similar to the drawings I create prior to building my sculptures. I thought it would be interesting to carve my fantastic creature imagery on a vessel form. The result is these traditionally shaped and glazed tumblers. I use contemporary multi-colored food safe Celadons that have a wider color range than the historic Chinese blue and green, however, they are equally subtle in their clear beauty.
